On Monday, November 11th the Martic team welcomed all veterans to come to school so we could honor them on this special day. Children heard about the history of Armistice day that eventually was changed to Veteran’s Day. We were delighted to hear the sounds of Sweet Spirit singing the tunes to the different divisions of the armed forces. Corporal Travis Wilson, a local marine who graduated from Penn Manor joined us for this wonderful event. He spoke to the children about the importance of thanking all veterans. Under the direction of Mrs. Duff, our second graders read a poem about Veteran’s day.
It was a great day and Martic thanks Mrs. Rineer and Ms. Kathy Zerby for their efforts to coordinate this event for our school. We hosted 26 veterans and were delighted by their attendance. Please watch the three videos from our special day.
