Friday night was a fun evening at Martic elementary school while families and friends nestled in for a great movie, yummy snacks and fun with friends. It was fun to watch as our kindergarten kids learned what it was like to be together, NOT during school time. How sweet that they all gathered in one area as the movie played and they became more and more comfortable. I also watched as one of our sixth graders laughed and joked with a younger student who work as buddies by day when asked, but chose to be together at movie night. How sweet.
A huge shout out to all of our volunteers: Amanda Howry and Shannon Spearing did a great job with candy sales. You can imagine how much the children liked visiting them. Derek Arnold and Mike Paterson helped with set up, break down and security. 🙂 Kelli Eachus served everyone popcorn all night and Becky Rineer made sure there were plenty of warm soft pretzels for everyone to enjoy. Plenty of other parents helped whenever necessary, like Eric Shuffelbottom with tech support. Thank you everyone. I am already looking forward to our next one.
