The 6th Grade Celebration is fast approaching! This wonderful event will be held at Martic Elementary on Friday, June 2nd from 11:00 a.m. to approximately 2:15 p.m. Thanks to the generosity of Musser’s Market and Clark’s, there are only a few select items that still need to be donated. If you would like to donate any food for the event, it would be greatly appreciated. You are also welcome to join us for this event and watch the children enjoying their time together. Any help you are willing and able to offer would be welcome. Thank you.
If you can help, we only need a few more items. You can sign up to help or donate by clicking HERE.
As a reminder, the Martic / Conestoga book fair will be held on Friday, May 19th during the Spring Fling. It will also run the following week from May 22nd – May 24th.
This is our last book fair for the 2016-2017 school year. To celebrate this book fair, it is a BOGO (Buy One Get One FREE) event. In addition, every student will be given $5.00 off of their purchase. The $5.00 off will be good on only one purchase per student. Another new consideration is that purchases will now be taxable. We hope to see you at the book fair.
Just a reminder that the Martic Spring Fling is coming this Friday, May 19th. If you plan to donate to your child’s class basket, please send those items to school before Tuesday. We appreciate all donations and volunteers who are helping to make this night amazing for our families.
Today our entire school attended a show at The Fulton Theatre. James and the Giant Peach was amazing to watch. Our intermediate grades were able to stay after for a tour of the Fulton. It was intriguing to see all of the behind the scene areas of the theatre. There are captions below each picture to share where we were on the tour. Thank you to our Martic PTO for making this trip possible for our students. It was a great day.
On the stage.
Some of the characters within the play.
Props, sets and more props.
This is 5th grade in the break room where the actors hang out between scenes and during rehearsals.
The highest seats in the theatre with a great view. The children loved hearing stories about the history of the theatre.
An original door that was preserved from the jail that was on the same site as the Fulton years ago. The kids all commented about how small the door was.
This week our kids had a lot of fun participating in Olympic Day and Awesome Activity Day. We are so fortunate to have Dr. Janssen planning these special days for our children and the help of so many parents and retired teachers to make this day great for us. Here is a video clip with some of the highlights from the day. Enjoy! (Just click on the rings below.)
Sixth graders will be celebrating their graduation from Martic Elementary School on June 2nd at 2:40 PM in our cafeteria. This is a time we will distribute 6th grade certificates and awards from our specialist teachers. Please join us for this awesome culminating event.
Information will be coming soon from our PTO regarding the 6th graders celebration events that will take place earlier in the day and how you can help to make that event fabulous.
Last evening we welcomed some of our new kindergartners to Martic. We had many new families join us and we welcomed back some families who have older siblings already enrolled.
During their visits, parents learned about Martic being a Title One school and how students qualify for title one services. Students were able to visit the kindergarten classroom and meet their teacher. Mrs. Mulder was the star of the night, because all of the children could not wait to meet their new teacher. Every child took home a special book that introduced some of the staff members they would see. The book also had high frequency words highlighted so kids could read them all summer long.
It was a joy to welcome all of the children to Martic. Can’t wait until next year!!
